Marilú Ríos Guerrero 

Marilú Ríos Guerrero is a Mexican transdisciplinary artist, researcher, art therapist, cultural manager, and educator. She is the co-creator of Cambio Creativo and Colorantes Habichuela. Her interests lie in aesthetics traversed by the anthropological, geological, ecological, dissensual, community-based, affective, playful, therapeutic, mystical, and fictional. For more than 15 years, she has mainly researched color through natural pigments, interrelating their dyeing qualities with their medicinal properties from herbalism, ritual, anthropology, politics, play, and geo-aesthetics. She creates paintings, installations, and process-based sculptures documented through photography, video performance, and/or audio.
She holds a Master’s degree in Art and Environment from the Autonomous University of Mexico, graduating with honors for her research “Psychic and Biological Transmutations through Creation with Natural Materials,” as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Visual and Media Arts from the Center for Higher Studies in Design of Monterrey, graduating Summa Cum Laude and with Honors for her research “The Possibilities of Art for Social Transformation.” She has had more than 7 solo exhibitions and over 25 group exhibitions in museums, galleries, and independent spaces in Australia, France, Spain, the United States of America, and the United Mexican States. She has received several national and international awards and grants, including: Artistic Residency Support (RA) from the Mexican Government’s System of Support for Creation and Cultural Projects (2024–2025), CEP-UNAM Grant (2016–2018), PIDAC (2016, 1st ed.), CONARTE NL (2016), Chain for Betters WU, England (2015), Domicilio Conocido 3rd edition, CCUT-UVA, Mexico City (2013), among others.

Alongside her artistic career, she explores the deep knowledge of the human being, studying and training in various schools and paths of ancestral, energetic, and mystical medicine from different cultures around the world. Her professional training in this field includes: a Diploma in Neurosciences and Neuroaesthetics from the Faculty of Medicine of the Autonomous University of Mexico (2017); a Diploma in Art Therapy from the Center for Psychotherapeutic Studies, Mexico City (2012); a Diploma in Human Development from the Loyola Cultural Center, Nuevo León, Mexico (2012); a Diploma in Naturism and Ayurveda from La Salud Interior, Mexico City (2021). She has trained in Integral Health Counseling at Centro Madre Selva, Mexico City (2015); Holoecology with agro-homeopathy researcher Radko Ticshavsky (2013); Herbalism at the Tzaping Institute, Mexico City (2016), and holds two certifications in energetic schools.
She also studies the human body through movement. Her professional training and continuing education include: Contemporary Dance, Graham Technique at the Extension Program of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters, Autonomous University of Nuevo León, Mexico, under psychologist, choreographer, and dancer Ricardo Martínez (2001–2004); "Dancing on the Floor and Off the Floor" with dancer and choreographer Ruby Gámez (2011); Contact Improvisation with dancer, choreographer, and cultural manager Aurora Buensuceso (2011); Contact Impro with dancer Catalina Castillo (2012); Choreographic Creation with choreographer Sunny Savoy (2012); Water Dance with dancer Andrea Scheel (2013); Butoh Dance with performing artist and choreographer Francisco Rangel Turón (2024); Linklater Method & Butoh with transdisciplinary artist Gisela Cortés (2025); Improvisation and Contact with dancer, actor, and psycho-corporal therapist Antonio Arenas; Active Meditation + Butoh with performing artist Patricia Caña (2025).
Marilú Ríos Guerrero currently coordinates the Sensitive Body Laboratory at Cambio Creativo in Mexico City.

Marilú Ríos Guerrero es una artista transdisciplinar mexicana, investigadora, arte terapeuta, gestora cultural y docente. Co-creadora de Cambio Creativo y Colorantes Habichuela. Se interesa en estéticas atravesadas por lo antropológico, geológico, ecológico, disensual, comunitario, afectivo, lúdico, terapéutico, místico y la ficción. Desde hace más de 15 años, investiga principalmente el color a través de pigmentos naturales, interrelacionando sus cualidades tintoreras con sus propiedades medicinales desde la herbolaria, lo ritual, antropológico, político, lúdico y geoestético. Realizando pinturas, instalaciones y esculturas procesuales documentadas con fotografía, video performance y/o audio.

Cuenta con el máster en Arte y Entorno por la Universidad Autónoma de México con la distinción honorífica por su investigación “Transmutaciones Psíquicas y Biológicas a partir de la Creación con Materiales Naturales”, con la Licenciatura en Artes Visuales y Mediáticas por el Centro de Estudios Superiores de Diseño de Monterrey con la distinción Summa Cum Laude y Honores por su investigación “Las posibilidades del Arte para la transformación Social”. Cuenta con más de 7 exhibiciones individuales y más de 25 colectivas en museos, galería y espacios independientes de Australia, Francia, España, Estados Unidos de América y Estados Unidos Mexicanos. Ha sido acreditada a varios premios y becas nacionales e internacionales, como por ejemplo: Apoyo Residencias Artísticas (RA) del Sistema de Apoyos a la Creación y Proyectos Culturales del Gobierno Mexicano (2024-2025), Beca CEP UNAM (2016-2018), PIDAC (2016, 1°ed), CONARTE NL (2016), Chain for Betters WU, Inglaterra (2015), Domicilio Conocido 3er edición, CCUT-UVA, Cd.Mx (2013), etc. 

A la par de su profesión artística, indaga en el conocimiento profundo del ser humano interesándose y formándose en diversas escuelas y caminos de medicina originaria de diversas culturas del mundo, energética y mística. Entre sus formaciones profesionales en ese campo, destaca el Diplomado en Neurociencias y Neuroestéticas por la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Autónoma de México (2017), Diplomado en Arte Terapia por el Centro de Estudios Psicoterapeúticos, CDMX (2012); Diplomado en Desarrollo Humano por el Centro Cultural Loyola, N.L. México (2012), Diplomado en Naturismo y Ayurveda por La Salud Interior, CDMX, (2021). Formación en Asesoría en Salud Integral por el Centro Madre Selva, CDMX, (2015); Formación en Holoecología de la mano del investigar en Agrohomeopatía Radko Ticshavsky (2013); Formación en Herbolaria por el Instituto Tzaping CDMX (2016) y dos certificaciones de escuelas energéticas. Así como en el estudio del cuerpo humano a través del movimiento, entre sus formaciones y actualizaciones profesionales se encuentra: Formación en Danza Contemporánea, Técnica Graham por la Extensión de la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, México de la mano del psicólogo, coreógrafo y bailarín Ricardo Martínez (2001-2004), Bailando al Ras y Fuera del Piso, con el bailarín y coreógrafo Ruby Gámez (2011), Contact Impro con la bailarina, coreógrafa y gestora cultural Aurora Buensuceso (2011), Contact Impro con la bailarina Catalina Castillo (2012), Creación coreográfica con la coreógrafa Sunny Savoy (2012), Danza en Agua con la bailarina Andrea Scheel (2013), Danza Butoh con el artista escénico y coreógrafo Francisco Rangel Turón (2024), Método Linklater & Butoh con la artista transdicipliar Gisela Cortés (2025), Improvisación y Contacto con el bailarín, actor y terapeuta psico-corporal Antonio Arenas, Meditación Activa + Butoh con la artista escénica Patricia Caña (2025).
